Approximate age/birthdate:  Approximate DOB late 2007/early 2008

Weight/size:  45 lbs

Housebroken:  yes

Crate trained:  yes

Personality:  very typical Shar-pei aloofness, must be properly introduced to new dogs, will test you to see if you really ARE the boss and makes you prove you really are the 'top dog,' playful, curious, very smart, hard-headed

Energy level:  medium

Fenced yard required:  YES

Leash walk:  yes ... will pull if allowed

Obedience training:  seems to have had some training but would benefit from going to a good class with a new owner as a bonding experience

Riding in vehicles:  rides OK

Spayed/neutered:  YES

Up-to-date on routine vaccinations:  YES

Microchipped:  YES

Social with other dogs:  yes ... once everyone has been properly introduced and as long as everyone is using their nice manners.  She does NOT tolerate other dogs rushing in to her face.

Social with cats:  hasn't been around the cats

Good with children: hasn't been around children but would likely be fine with any age

Other important information:  Willow is a very typical pei ... she marches to her own drum!  She has nice manners and as long as you calmly and consistently set the expectations for her behavior, she does pretty well.  She seems to have a mischievous streak and a sense of humor.

She has the horse hair coat and is an absolute beauty.

Adoption fee:  $250

If you think Willow might be the perfect pup for you, please go to www.allamericanmuttrescue.org, click on Forms/Application and complete your adoption application online.

We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.  You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have 10 or more applications in process.  We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.

When your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet to see if Willow picks you too.

If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee and an adoption contract to be signed.

Please feel free to email weluvpups@hotmail.com or call 434 841 0411 or 540 297 1590 if you have additional questions.
