Sweet Rascal is such a lovebug.  Until recently his job was to be a stud dog in a backyard breeding operation. His knees are a little wonky (typical Chihuahua issue), all his teeth were rotting out, his entire mouth and jawbone were infected, and he has a heart murmur.  So immediately we had antibiotics for the infected mouth, then a neuter, an extensive dental (he now has 2 teeth remaining), and he’s on a medication for his heart murmur.  And he feels soooooo much better.  We are hoping that eliminating the infection in his mouth may even help improve the heart issues!  At this point, his only care in the world is when is his next meal being served!

This little man is wonderful and he will be such a great companion for some lucky person who is ready, willing and able to give him all the one-on-one love and attention he has been missing during his first years.  And chis can live to be well over 15 years old, so he’s just getting started! This sweet little fella is all about loves and snuggles ... and food. His name is Rascal and he has now had extensive dental work, will be on antibiotics for all the infection for another week or so, and he will be on heart medication for the rest of his life ... which may be another 10 years or more. But thanks to the wonderful person who rescued him from the breeder who didn't care whether he lived or died, he will now live a long and happy life. AAMR was happy to take him in and get the vet care he needed and now he needs to find a new forever family who will love him and take good care of him. He will be available for adoption in about 10 days.

If you think Rascal might be the perfect pup for you, please go to
www.allamericanmuttrescue.org, click on Forms/Application and complete your adoption application online.

We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.  You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process.  We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.

When your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet to see if Rascal picks you too.

If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed.

Please feel free to email weluvpups@hotmail.com or call 434 841 0411 or 540 297 1590 if you have additional questions.
