Housebroken:  YES

Crate trained:  YES

Personality:  sweet, loving, easy-going, happy, gentle

Energy level: medium

Fenced yard required?:   YES

Does he/she jump fences?  YES – she can easily jump a 4’ fence so will probably do best with an underground fence or an electronic fence.  She will do fine on a zip line for reasonable/short periods of time

Leash walk:  YES

Obedience training:  Knows ‘sit’ and ‘off’ – very smart and eager to please, listens well

Riding in vehicles:  RIDES OK      

Spayed/neutered:   YES

Up-to-date on routine vaccinations:   YES

Microchipped:   YES

Social with other dogs:  YES

Social with cats:  Will bark at them and chase them

Good with children:  Sarah will be fine with older, respectful children

Sarah is such a sweet girl … if we could only stop her from jumping fences and going to visit the neighbors.  She comes back looking all ‘sorry’ because she knows she has misbehaved!  She would probably do well if trained to an underground or electronic fence.  She is an inside girl but she needs more exercise than a short walk or two each day.  She has very nice house manners, and she gets along well with her foster siblings, somewhat ignores the cats and does well with children.  She likes to play, but she knows when it’s time to use her ‘nice girl manners.’

Sarah is a very smart girl who would do well with obedience training.  She responds well to positive reinforcement and absolutely doesn’t like to be fussed at!  Sarah definitely needs a family with time to play with her and love her a lot. She is a joy to have around and she will bring a lot of joy to a family that adopts her.

We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.  You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have 10 or more applications in process.  We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.

When your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet to see if Sarah picks you too.

If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed.
