Hi … my name is Aurora and here are some things you need to know about me:
Aurora is a furry bundle of wiggles. She is lots of fun, and she can be very intense if she believes she needs to be ‘on duty.’ The key to keeping this girl happy is letting her know YOU have everything under control and she just needs to chill. She has, on occasion, tried to ‘be the boss’ and it has not worked out well. She lost her last home because she and another pup in the house were repeatedly trying to settle who was going to be ‘top dog.’ She is cute and has enough energy that she will really enjoy being part of an active family who will include her in all the family fun! She is also very smart and learns very quickly.
Approximate age/birthdate: April 8, 2016
Weight/size: ~20 lbs
Housebroken: YES (as long as you do your part and take her out regularly)
Crate trained: YES
Personality: happy, active, easy to excite
Energy level: medium
Fenced yard required?: YES (no underground/electric fences) … she likes to roam around in a safe area but would be a flight risk in an unfenced area
Does he/she jump fences? NO
Leash walk: YES
Obedience training: No, but she does listen, but will not always come when called (and that is why she requires a fenced yard)
Riding in vehicles: RIDES OK
Spayed/neutered: YES
Up-to-date on routine vaccinations: YES
Microchipped: YES
Social with other dogs: When introduced properly she seems to do well with most dogs who behave well, especially male dogs. She can be dog selective and she can be a bit competitive for her person’s attention. She would be very happy as an only dog.
Social with cats: NO cats please. She does have prey drive.
Good with children: Will probably be ok with older (10 and over), calm, respectful children.
Adoption donation: $175
If you think Aurora might be the perfect pup for you, please go to www.allamericanmuttrescue.org/forms and complete your adoption application online.
We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits. You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references. Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process. We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.
When your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet to see if Aurora picks you too.
If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed.
