  • Species: Dog
  • General Color: Tricolor (Tan/Brown & Black & White)

Cute little Coco has been adopted!  Lucky little girl now has a new Mom and Dad and an adorable little human sister.  Happy Life sweet CoCo!

Hi … my name is CoCo! Please take a minute to read my entire bio to find out everything you need to know about me.

If you think I might be the perfect pup for you, go to www.allamericanmuttrescue.org/forms and complete the adoption application online.

Oh little CoCo … or CoCo Bean (as in jumping bean) … what a precious, wild, energetic, loving, silly puppy girl she is.  And she is pretty cute, too!  She loves to play with other dogs close to her size, but she does not do well with overly assertive/aggressive dogs.  She is submissive by nature but, if pushed, her terrier side will come out and she will defend herself.  She loves people and craves human attention and affection. Are you ready for the challenge (and the rewards) of loving CoCo?  She will need a 12-15 year commitment from you, but those will be years full of love.

Approximate age/birthdate:  Sep 11, 2021

Weight/size: 12 lbs

Housebroken:  Working on it and she does well as long as you do your part and get her outside often.  And sometimes she needs to be reminded to go potty instead of just playing and running around in the yard!

Crate trained:  YES – she will stay in her crate with minimal protest, but she will still potty in the crate if you do not take her outside regularly.

Personality: happy, sweet, loving, playful, curious, and she would be a lap dog if she could sit still long enough

Energy level: high – puppy high

Fenced yard required?:   YES – this little one can move at supersonic speed, so the fenced yard is for her safety (and her person’s sanity).  She needs a safe area to run off some of her energy.  She must never be outside a fenced area unless she is harnessed and leashed.  She will not always come when called, especially when she is distracted … which is about 90% of the time.

Does he/she jump fences?  NO .. but she probably could if she really wanted to

Leash walk with manners:  She tries to focus on her manners for about 2 seconds at a time, and then she gets distracted by something and feels the need to chase it.  Practice, practice, practice (and maturity) is needed for her to get better.

Obedience training: No, but CoCo would enjoy and benefit from going to an obedience class with her new person.  It is a great bonding time and both you and your pup learn ways to help exercise that busy puppy mind!  CoCo is a very smart little girl and learns quickly, and she would benefit from the socialization of a group class.

Riding in vehicles:  RIDES OK

Spayed/neutered:   YES

Up-to-date on routine vaccinations:   YES

Microchipped:   YES

Social with other dogs:  YES – she enjoys having other energetic playmates.  She may be a bit much for older, more settled pups.  She prefers dogs close to her size and can get scared and defensive around energetic larger dogs.

Social with cats: She has not been around cats in foster care but we are sure she would happily chase them.  We do not know if she would harm them on purpose.  Another reason she needs a fenced yard so she doesn’t get you in trouble with the neighbors!

Good with children: Will probably be best with respectful, calm children ages 10 and up.  Her energy will be too much for very young children.

Adoption donation: $225

We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.  You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process.  We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.

When your application is approved, we will schedule a home visit/meet-and-greet to see if CoCo picks you too.

If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed.

Please feel free to email weluvpups@hotmail.com if you have additional questions.
