About Elvis

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • General Color: Black
  • Current Age: 2 Years 9 Months (best estimate)

Hi … my name is Elvis! Read my bio to find out everything you need to know about me.

If you think I might be the perfect pup for you, go to www.allamericanmuttrescue.org/forms and complete the adoption application online.

NOTE:  Elvis is being neutered prior to going to his new home and home visit will be scheduled after Dec 27.  Adopters must live within 50 miles of Evington, VA.

Elvis was born on July 17, 2021, and was the second born in a litter of 3.  They are 3 little rock stars (thus the names).  He is a pom-chi (a Pomeranian/Chihuahua mix) and we know his mom, Ash, is solid black and weighs about 9 lbs.  We were told that dad is another pom-chi, a little larger.  At 4 months, Elvis weighed a shade over 6 lbs, so we’re guessing as an adult he might outweigh his mom by a little!  Elvis is super snuggly, easily scared, very loving.  He loves his brothers and his mom, but if there is a lap available, he will be the first one in it. He also LOVES LOVES LOVES toys and will play by himself with his toys while his brothers are wrestling!  He is a happy, loving little boy and we are looking for an extra special family for him.

Approximate age/birthdate:  July 17 2021

Weight/size:  at birth 5.5 oz, at 12 weeks 4 lbs 2 oz, at 16 weeks 6 lbs

Housebroken:  NO too young

Crate trained:  NO too young

Personality:  happy, sweet, loving, super snuggly

Energy level:  full play mode to sound asleep in a matter of seconds

Fenced yard required?:  Definitely preferred.  He should never be outside a fenced area off-leash.  Even inside a fenced yard, he should never be left alone.  Birds of prey can easily grab these tiny toy dogs and take them away.  Be cautious.

Does he/she jump fences?  NO

Leash walk with manners:  NO … still a bit small for leash walking.  When leash walking, he should be wearing a harness, never a leash attached to a collar, which can contribute to trachea injuries.

Obedience training:  NO

Riding in vehicles:  RIDES OK

Spayed/neutered:   NO … specific date to be determined

Up-to-date on routine vaccinations:   YES

Microchipped:   NOT YET – will be microchipped while under anesthesia for neuter

Social with other dogs:  Has only been around his mom and his littermates.  He will need to be introduced to new dogs slowly and carefully.

Social with cats: Has not been around cats in foster home.

Good with children:  Tiny dogs and young/smaller children are not a great match.  Respectful, calm children ages 12 and up, who clearly understand that he is not a toy may be a better fit for him.

Adoption donation:  $385

We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.  You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process.  We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.

When your application is approved, we will schedule a home visit/meet-and-greet to see if Elvis picks you too.

If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed.

Please feel free to email weluvpups@hotmail.com if you have additional questions.
