About Milo

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog

Check out the smile on Milo's face!  New home, new Mom, fenced yard to explore ... and he's singing 'Oh Happy Day'!  Happy Life, little one!

Hi … my name is Milo! Read my bio to find out everything you need to know about me.

If you think I might be the perfect pup for you, go to www.allamericanmuttrescue.org/forms and complete the adoption application online.

Milo is a big dose of cuteness overload wrapped in blonde fuzzy fur!  This boy is sweet and fun and high energy and a very typical terrier pup. Now don’t let all that cuteness fool you, terriers are not for everyone.  If you are looking for the following characteristics in your new pup, Milo might just be for you … feisty, very energetic, stubborn, sweet, playful and busy.  Terriers, large or small, are working dogs. They are bred to hunt and kill vermin (which means they are often not cat friendly) and to guard and protect their families and home (which can lead to excessive barking and nipping if not properly trained).  And with the right people who are willing to be consistent with them in training and expectations of behavior, terriers are absolutely joyful pets.  If you let them believe that they are the pack leader instead of you, you have officially lost the war!

Milo loves having a fenced yard to run and play in.  Having a place where he can run off his extra energy will help maintain both his physical and mental health!  And he really enjoys having another small dog with his same energy to play with.  Remember, a tired pup is a happy pup!

With all the terrier energy and drive, Milo is also the sweetest little guy!  If you think a terrier pup might just be what you need to energize your life, Milo is a gem!

Approximate age/birthdate:  May 2 2021

Weight/size: ~8 lbs (will probably be ~12 lbs when fully grown)

Housebroken:  YES as long as you do your part and get him outside regularly

Crate trained:  YES

Personality: happy, funny, playful, sweet, a little intense, curious

Energy level:  high (but settles nicely inside once he runs off his energy)

Fenced yard required?:   YES … a physical fence (no electric or underground fencing)

Does he/she jump fences?  NO

Leash walk with manners:  He is learning … it’s hard to walk calmly when you are a bundle of energy waiting to be let loose!  Always use a harness instead of a collar to walk him to reduce the risk of trachea injury.

Obedience training:  NO but it would be an investment in Milo for an adopter to take him to obedience class. He is super smart and loves to have a job to do.  Obedience training is perfect for terriers.  He might even make a great agility dog, with proper training!

Riding in vehicles:  RIDES OK

Spayed/neutered:   YES

Up-to-date on routine vaccinations:   YES

Microchipped:   YES

Social with other dogs:  YES – he loves running and playing with other foster dogs up to about 25 lbs (he has no idea he is little)

Social with cats: Milo would probably drive most cats crazy because he would be wanting to chase them and play with them all the time

Good with children:  No small/very young children.  Toy breeds are NOT toys, so respectful, calm children ages 10 and up who clearly understand this will be a better fit for Milo.

Adoption donation:  $250

We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.  You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process.  We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.

When your application is approved, we will schedule a home visit/meet-and-greet to see if Milo picks you too.

If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed.

Please feel free to email weluvpups@hotmail.com if you have additional questions.
