About Parker

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog

Parker has found his new forever home!  His new Dad might just spoil him rotten.

Hi … my name is Parker!  Read my bio to find out everything you need to know about me.

If you think I might be the perfect pup for you, go to www.allamericanmuttrescue.org/forms and complete the adoption application online.

Check out this cute little chi boy who doesn’t always act like a chi!  His unique colors are very striking. He will often even listen and be calm and cuddle and give kisses … oh my!  He found himself in ‘doggy jail’ and then he moved to AAMR so we can help him find his perfect new forever home!

Parker seems like he would be ok having another small, playful dog in his new home.  He’s a little pushy (not aggressive - just sort of 'in your face') when he goes out with some of his foster friends, but we hope that may change since he has been neutered. And, although he walks ok on a leash, he would love the safety and freedom of a nice fenced yard so he could run around and explore (and play with a new friend).  Sometimes if he is not ready to come back inside he will run from you ... yet another reason a fenced yard would be good for him!

If you need a new bright spot in your day, Parker could be the guy for you!

Approximate age/birthdate:  ~April 8, 2020

Weight/size: 11 lbs (he likes to eat so it will be up to you to watch his weight)

Housebroken:  YES but due to being newly neutered he may still ‘mark’ territory

Crate trained:  YES

Personality:  happy, sweet, playful

Energy level:  medium – knows how to chill inside

Fenced yard required?:   Definitely preferred unless you have lots of time to take him on long walks.  He loves to get outside and explore and play.

Does he/she jump fences?  NO

Leash walk with manners:  YES (until he sees something he wants to go check out, and then the pull begins)  He should always be walked on a harness (not just a collar) to avoid possible trachea injuries.

Obedience training:  NO but he would probably enjoy going to an obedience class with his new person. He would really enjoy learning new things and being able to show off his skills!

Riding in vehicles:  RIDES OK

Spayed/neutered:   YES

Up-to-date on routine vaccinations:   YES

Microchipped:   YES

Social with other dogs:  YES, with most dogs up to around 20 lbs.  His social skills need a little polishing because he still can be a little too 'in your face' when meeting new pups.

Social with cats:  Has not been around cats in foster home, but we think he would be delighted to chase cats.  Cats might be much happier without him.

Good with children:  Chihuahuas are not the best pets with younger/small children. Respectful, calm children ages 10 and up who clearly understand that he is not a toy will be a better fit for him.

 Adoption donation:  $225

We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.  You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process.  We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.

When your application is approved, we will schedule a home visit/meet-and-greet to see if Parker picks you too.

If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed.

Please feel free to email weluvpups@hotmail.com if you have additional questions.
