Jake is just the sweetest fella.  He recently lost his person and found himself staying with his vet’s office for a bit.  Then the decision was made that it would be better to find a new forever home for this sweet boy … and that is how he made his way to AAMR.  He is such an easy-going, polite, gentleman and just a joy to have around.  If you love boxers and you’re looking for a new handsome BFF (Best Furry Friend) in your life, Jake just might be your man.  The family who welcomes Jake will be oh so lucky!

Weight/size:  42 pounds

Housebroken:  YES

Crate trained:  YES

Personality: laid back, easy-going, friendly, happy

Energy level:  medium-to-low

Fenced yard required?:   Definitely preferred.  He likes to get outside and explore and a physically fenced yard gives him a safe place to do that … and to sunbathe!

Does he/she jump fences?  NO

Leash walk with manners:  YES

Obedience training:  Knows ‘sit’

Riding in vehicles:  RIDES OK     

Spayed/neutered:   YES

Up-to-date on routine vaccinations:   YES

Social with other dogs: He has been good with his new foster friends. Introductions to new dogs should always be handled patiently and cautiously.

Social with cats: Has not been around cats in foster home, so we don’t know.

Good with children:  Will probably be best with respectful, calm children ages 10 and up.

We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.  You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process.  We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.

When your application is approved, we will schedule a home visit/meet-and-greet to see if Jake picks you too.

If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed.
