About Maddie

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • General Color: Tricolor (Tan/Brown & Black & White)

Aug 26 2021 Miss Maddie got a new last name, parents to spoil her and 2 new doggy sisters to play with!  She is one blessed little girl ... and she now lives at the beach.

Hi … my name is Maddie! Read my bio to find out everything you need to know about me.

If you think I might be the perfect pup for you, go to www.allamericanmuttrescue.org/forms and complete the adoption application online.

Have you seen anything cuter than Maddie lately?  At first glance, you think ‘beagle’ and she really might have some beagle genes in her DNA, but look closer.  Check out the face shape and the front legs and feet.  Those are definitely dachshund, and her personality, and even her bark say ‘I am a dachshund girl.’  Whatever the mix, this little one is just precious, and she is so ready to find her forever family!  Please keep reading to learn more about her!

Approximate age/birthdate:  Dec 18 2020

Weight/size: 12 lbs.

Housebroken:  about 90% there … and working on it … does well when taken out often, so you will need to do your part!

Crate trained:  YES … seldom has accidents in crate

Personality: sweet, playful, curious, loving

Energy level:  puppy energy … wide open to sound asleep … and everything in between

Fenced yard required?:  Absolutely preferred because she has so much energy that she needs to run off every day.  She can NEVER be off-leash in an unfenced area as she is still an untrained pup who will not consistently come when called. And she is very fast when she takes off.

Does he/she jump fences?  NO

Leash walk with manners:  Working on it.  She does better when wearing a harness rather than just a collar.  The harness is also a safer choice and protects her trachea from excessive pressure.

Obedience training:  NO and she would definitely benefit from some training classes.

Riding in vehicles:  RIDES OK

Spayed/neutered:   YES

Up-to-date on routine vaccinations:   YES

Microchipped:   YES

Social with other dogs:  YES, although her ‘unpolished’ puppy play style is too much for some other dogs.

Social with cats:  She will chase and bark at anything that moves.  It all seems playful but might be worrisome to the cat!

Good with children:  Will probably be best with respectful, calm children ages 10 and up.  Her jumping and running and energy may be too much for toddlers and younger children.  She has lived with children previously.

Adoption donation:  $175

We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.  You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process.  We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.

When your application is approved, we will schedule a home visit/meet-and-greet to see if Maddie picks you too.

If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed. Please feel free to email weluvpups@hotmail.com if you have additional questions.
