About Chip

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • General Color: Black with Brown, Red, Golden, Orange or Chestnut

Chip has a new family and he is one happy boy!  Congratulations and Happy Life Chip!

Hi … my name is Chip! Read my bio to find out everything you need to know about me.

If you think I might be the perfect pup for you, go to www.allamericanmuttrescue.org/forms and complete the adoption application online.  If you have additional questions, please email weluvpups@hotmail.com.

Chip is a sweet little fella who used to live in a home with 4 other pups … one of them was his brother.  The others were larger and older pups, and for some reason, Chip is not really fond of  larger dogs so he needs a home without large dogs.  He puts up his defenses and gets a little growly/snappy.  He seems to like some (but not all) small dogs, so with proper introductions, he may be fine.  His perfect home will be one where he is an only child! He loves people so much and is just a wiggly, snuggly mess!  Weighing in at a hair under 6 lbs, he should not be left unsupervised with children. He’s not real brave but he sure is sweet.  Could you be his new forever person??

Approximate age/birthdate:  Dec 27, 2018

Weight/size: ~6 lbs

Housebroken:  Still working on it, but he does pretty well as long as you take him out often.  Little dog, little bladder … makes sense!

Crate trained:  YES … but he will still potty in his crate if left too long

Personality:  happy, sweet, can be a little shy meeting new people, not great around larger dogs, and probably not around small children

Energy level:  medium … he plays when he has free reign to do so and he can be calm when he needs to be

Fenced yard required?:   Definitely preferred for his own safety.  He likes to explore outside and must never be off-leash in any unfenced outside area.

Does he/she jump fences?  NO

Leash walk with manners:  Learning … and doing well

Obedience training:  No

Riding in vehicles:  RIDES OK  … gets a little stressed and drools

Spayed/neutered:   YES

Up-to-date on routine vaccinations:   YES

Microchipped:   YES

Social with other dogs:  Yes with some smaller dogs, No with most larger dogs

Social with cats:  Has not been around cats in foster care, but he might be curious about them.  Can’t imagine that he would try to hurt them.

Good with children:  Will probably be best with respectful, calm children ages 10 and up.  No toddlers or loud, super-active children.  He would go into hiding.

Adoption donation: $250

We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.  You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process.  We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.

When your application is approved, we will schedule a home visit/meet-and-greet to see if Chip picks you too.

If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed.
