January 28, 2020 was a great day for these sweet girls ... they got a new mom who opened her heart and her home to them!  Happy Life little girls!

Hi … our names are Snicker and Doodle and here are some things you need to know about us!  After you read through our bio, if you think we might be the perfect pups for you, please go to www.allamericanmuttrescue.org/forms and complete your adoption application online.  (We all live with foster families so there is no shelter where you can come see us … so do your application if you are interested in adopting us!)

Oh my … are you ready for cuteness overload??  Meet Snicker and Doodle … adorable little wire-haired dachshund mixes!  Doodle and Snicker (yes, they are sisters) have always been together … and they would really like to stay that way.  They cry when they can’t see each other.  Both girls are super sweet and loving, but Doodle seems to be even a little more ‘spoiled’ than Snicker!  One of Doodle’s favorite things is to be held like a baby.  Snicker loves to be held too, and they both give sweet kisses.  From what we have pieced together about their early years, they have been bounced around quite a bit, but have always managed to stay together.  We know they have been in at least two public shelters in their first 6 years, but at least they were together.

AAMR does not usually try to place siblings together, but we have found that these 2 really love being together.

Approximate age/birthdate:  born in 2013

Weight/size:  9 lbs (Doodle) and 14 lbs (Snicker)

Housebroken:  YES

Crate trained:  YES

Personality:  sweet, happy, cuddly, curious 

Energy level:  medium

Fenced yard required?:   Definitely preferred because they love to go outside and explore.  They can definitely not be outside a fenced area off-leash because their curiosity will take them places they should not go alone!  They know their names, but are typical doxies and will ignore you totally if they are in investigation mode!  And they are really fast.

Does he/she jump fences?  NO

Leash walk with manners:  YES … they do get excited when they see something they want to go investigate

Obedience training:  NO but they are treat-motivated and smart. 

Riding in vehicles:  RIDES OK     

Spayed/neutered:   YES

Up-to-date on routine vaccinations:   YES

Microchipped:   YES

Social with other dogs:  YES

Social with cats: Curious about cats and would definitely chase if they run.

Good with children:  Will probably be best with respectful, calm children ages 10 and up.

Adoption donation:  $275 for the amazing pair of sisters

We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.  You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process.  We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.

When your application is approved, we will schedule a home visit/meet-and-greet to see if Snicker and Doodle pick you too.  If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed.
