HANK IS ONE LUCKY BOY AND HE'S HAPPY TO BE IN HIS NEW FOREVER HOME!

Hi … my name is Hank and here are some things you need to know about me!  After you read through my bio, if you think I might be the perfect pup for you, please go to
www.allamericanmuttrescue.org/forms and complete your adoption application online.

Oh dear Hank!  What a boy he is!  Long and low and built like a dozer, he is a bundle of wiggles and a busy boy!  And he smiles all the time.  We see lots of corgi in him, but there seems to be something a little larger and with a shorter coat mixed in. Full of puppy energy (even though he is technically an ‘adult’), he is quite the explorer.  So, so smart, friendly and loving, he seems to have been pretty well socialized in his earlier life.  We know corgis are working dogs … herding dogs … so he will probably always be looking for a job to do.  He does, however, settle well inside.  He can be vocal (and he does have a very big boy bark so he might not be the best apartment/condo/duplex/townhome dweller), but he generally settles in quietly for the night.

Hank will love to have an active family with a great fenced yard so he has room to run and play.  He really loves being with people, so taking him on family adventures will make him a happy boy.  If you think he could be the perfect addition to your family, get your application in as soon as possible!

Approximate age/birthdate:  born ~mid 2018

Weight/size:  45-50 lbs (yes he is solid as a tank)

Housebroken:  YES

Crate trained:  YES

Personality:  friendly, smart, energetic, curious

Energy level:  medium-to-high

Fenced yard required?:   YES … Hank is a young boy with lots of energy and unless you are willing to walk/jog/run some distance with him every day, he needs a place to get exercise.

Does he/she jump fences?  NO

Leash walk with manners:  Getting there … he still gets excited and will pull (and he is a strong boy)

Obedience training:  Knows ‘sit’ and is treat motivated.  Responds to positive reinforcement

Riding in vehicles:  RIDES OK

Spayed/neutered:   YES

Up-to-date on routine vaccinations:   YES

Microchipped:   YES

Social with other dogs:  YES

Social with cats:  Has ignored the cats at foster home so far, but if they run, he would probably be happy to chase!

Good with children:  Will probably be best with respectful, calm children ages 10 and up.  His size, strength and energy could be a bit ‘too much’ for younger, smaller children.

Adoption donation:  $175

We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.  You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process.  We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.

When your application is approved, we will schedule a home visit/meet-and-greet to see if Hank picks you too.

If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed.

Please feel free to email weluvpups@hotmail.com if you have additional questions.
