First impression ... 'oh how cute.'  And that is true.  But there is more to this little fluff ball than meets the eye.  He is smart and curious and busy and vocal and sweet and pushy and loveable (but not snuggly) and fearless.  And he probably is not the best apartment or townhouse dweller.  He can be very barky and your neighbors would probably not be happy!

If you want to be Bam Bam's person, you need to have lots of time for him.  He needs to be challenged because he is so smart and he needs consistent training ... every day.  If he does not get training at an early age, he will be out-of-control, and not a super nice pup to be around.  We already know he is very bossy and pushy and wants to be in charge (yes, all 8 pounds of him wants to be the Alpha), so if you're just looking for a cuddly fluff ball, he's probably not the boy for you.  With consistent training, this boy is going to be amazing.  And he does require regular grooming at least every 6 weeks.

Approximate age/birthdate:  December 29, 2018

Weight/size:  adult size will probably by ~12 lbs

Housebroken:  Working on it … does well if taken out often

Crate trained:  Working on it … seldom has accidents when taken outside often

Personality: happy-go-lucky, sweet, energetic, playful puppy

Energy level:  puppy energetic and can go from high to asleep in no time and then right back to high

Fenced yard required?:   Definitely preferred so he has a safe place to play and explore off-leash

Does he/she jump fences?  NO

Leash walk with manners:  Learning … he still gets excited and wants to take off when something catches his interest

Obedience training:  No … but he is getting to the age where he would do great in an obedience class

Riding in vehicles:  RIDES OK but sometimes gets a little stressed at first   

Spayed/neutered:   YES

Up-to-date on routine vaccinations:   YES

Microchipped:   YES

Social with other dogs:  YES … he is more social than some of the older, calmer dogs like!  Always looking for a playmate. He is often very pushy and insistent trying to get another dog to play … he has no manners!

Social with cats: Has not been around cats in foster care, but we’re sure he would chase them and try to play with them, too!

Good with children:  Will probably be best with respectful, calm children ages 10 and up.

Adoption donation:  $250

We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.  You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process.  We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.

When your application is approved, we will schedule a home visit/meet-and-greet to see if Bam Bam picks you too.

If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed.
