Happy Life little Honey!

Hi … my name is Honey and here are some things you need to know about me!  After you read through my bio, if you think I might be the perfect pup for you, please go to
www.allamericanmuttrescue.org/forms and complete your adoption application online.

Honey is just as sweet as her name and she wants to be with her person all the time!  We don’t know a lot about her history, but it seems like she must have spent a lot of time with people, getting lots of love and attention.  This girl will attach herself to you and be content as long as you will let her stay!  Honey will probably be best as an only pet as she is needy and will become overly possessive of her person if allowed.  She does not want to allow other pets to interfere with her 'me time' with her person.  She seems to have led a sheltered life and still has lots to learn about being part of a happy family.  Could you be ready to open your heart and your home to her and help her learn what a wonderfu world it can be for a pudgy chihuahua mix girl?

Approximate age/birthdate:  Mar 20, 2016

Weight/size: ~20 lbs (a little chunky and needs to shed a couple of pounds)

Housebroken:  YES … as long as you do your part and take her out often

Crate trained:  YES.  Though she prefers being where her people are, she will stay quietly in her crate when asked to. (If adopted into a home with other pets, her crate can be helpful training tool as she learns to share attention.)

Personality: very sweet, happy, curious, possessive of her chosen person

Energy level:  medium to low (and she would benefit from a family that would get her moving!)

Fenced yard required?:   Preferred.  It is always nice when pups have a place to explore safely off-leash.

Does he/she jump fences?  NO

Leash walk with manners:  YES

Obedience training:  No but she does listen and is treat motivated, so learns quickly

Riding in vehicles:  RIDES OK … gets a little stressed at first

Spayed/neutered:   YES

Up-to-date on routine vaccinations:   YES

Microchipped:   YES

Social with other dogs:  YES - but she has been known to get bossy with other pets when she is possessive of a person

Social with cats:  OK with cats

Good with children:  Will probably be best with respectful, calm children ages 10 and up.  She does not really ‘play’ a lot and enjoys a calm and quiet environment.

Adoption donation:  $175

We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.  You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process.  We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.

When your application is approved, we will schedule a home visit/meet-and-greet to see if Honey picks you too.

If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed.

Please feel free to email weluvpups@hotmail.com if you have additional questions.
