About Jetta

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • General Color: Black

Hi … my name is Jetta and here are some things you need to know about me!  After you read through my bio, if you think I might be the perfect pup for you, please go to www.allamericanmuttrescue.org/forms and complete your adoption application online.

Approximate age/birthdate:  ~Feb 2018

Weight/size:  22 lbs (Oct 2018) … guesstimated adult size 30 – 35 lbs

Housebroken:  Still working on it

Crate trained:  YES

Personality: sweet, wild and crazy, loveable, playful, excitable, vocal when excited … very puppy

Energy level:  high

Fenced yard required?:   YES … this little one has lots of energy and needs safe space to run it off

Does he/she jump fences?  NO

Leash walk with manners:  Working on it and she is getting better every day … she still just has puppy energy

Obedience training:  No … and she would definitely benefit from an obedience class.  She is very smart but her terrier energy makes it hard for her to focus sometimes.

Riding in vehicles:  RIDES OK

Spayed/neutered:   YES

Up-to-date on routine vaccinations:   YES

Microchipped:   YES

Social with other dogs:  YES … she really wants to play with other dogs but her puppy play skills are a bit rough.  Another dog will need to be patient with her as she learns and polishes her play skills

Social with cats:  Has not been around cats in foster care but we are sure she would chase them and she is FAST … so probably better with no cats

Good with children:  Will probably be best with respectful, calm children ages 10 and up.  Her size and energy would probably be too much for younger, smaller children.

Adoption donation:  $175

This little girl is beautiful and sweet and absolutely the clone of the Energizer Bunny … and not for the faint of heart! Having a large fenced area for her to play in will make a huge difference in her happiness (and yours) and her behavior.  She is a good girl and she just needs someone to love her and to be a strong leader for her … someone to set some rules and boundaries.  She does respond to consistent positive reinforcement training.  She has such a kind spirit and we think she will mature into an amazing companion with the proper human direction.  Probably not the best for a first time pet owner or for an apartment/condo dweller as she can be rowdy and vocal.

We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.  You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process.  We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.

When your application is approved, we will schedule a home visit/meet-and-greet to see if Jetta picks you too.

If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed.

Please feel free to email weluvpups@hotmail.com if you have additional questions.
