Housebroken:  YES as long as you do your part and take him out regularly

Crate trained:  YES – not his favorite place to be but he will do it if he must (although he may voice his displeasure)

Personality:  sweet, submissive, eager-to-please

Energy level:  medium

Fenced yard required?:   Definitely preferred so he has a safe place to run and play off-leash

Does he/she jump fences?  NO

Leash walk:  YES

Obedience training:  NO … but if he loves you, he will listen!

Riding in vehicles:  RIDES OK     

Spayed/neutered:   YES

Up-to-date on routine vaccinations:   YES

Microchipped:   YES

Social with other dogs:  YES  … likes to bark at them at first but seems to be ok

Social with cats:  Will bark at the cats and will chase them if they run.  Probably better with no cats.

Good with children:  Would probably be OK with older, calmer children.  The activity of younger children may be too much for him.

Is this the cutest wire-haired dachshund mix boy ever?  The cuteness of his face matches his amazing personality.  Vinny is such a sweetheart … and he just craves human attention.  A previous owner gave him up because the work schedule just did not allow for enough quality time with sweet Vinny.  This is a little man you just need to meet to see how sweet he is.

We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.  You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process.  We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.

When your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet to see if Vinny picks you too.

If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed.
