About Ginger

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • General Color: Gray/Silver/Salt & Pepper with Black

Congratulations to Maggie Mae (formerly Ginger) and her new Mom!  Hope you too have a wonderful life together!

Hi … my name is Ginger! Please take a minute to read my entire bio to find out everything you need to know about me.

If you think I might be the perfect pup for you, go to www.allamericanmuttrescue.org/forms and complete the adoption application online.

This adorable, fuzzy, snuggly little girl is so sweet, you just can’t help falling in love with her!  She is a happy pup even through some changes in her life after her owner (who still loved her) was no longer able to care for her.  AAMR was so lucky to be entrusted with her care, and the responsibility of finding her a great new forever home.  She has now finished all her vetting, including vaccinations, spay, and microchipping, so she is ready to start interviewing new families.  Could this cutie be the perfect girl for you?

Approximate age/birthdate:  Oct 15, 2021

Weight/size:  20 lbs

Housebroken:  YES as long as you do your part and take her out often

Crate trained:  YES she is comfy in her crate and does not have accidents if taken outside regularly

Personality:  happy, wiggly, curious, busy, joyful

Energy level:  medium – high, she IS a young terrier

Fenced yard required?:   A fenced yard is definitely preferred because she is young and energetic, and she will not always come when called if she is investigating and exploring. She must never be outside a fenced area off-leash.

Does he/she jump fences?  NO

Leash walk with manners:  Working on it … leash walking is a new skill for her. She should wear a harness, rather than just a collar, to prevent damage to her trachea as she still pulls … she is always in a hurry!

Obedience training:  Knows ‘sit’

Riding in vehicles:  RIDES OK

Spayed/neutered:   YES

Up-to-date on routine vaccinations:   YES

Microchipped:   YES

Social with other dogs:  YES

Social with cats:  Has not been around cats in foster care, but she would probably think it would be fun to chase them

Good with children:  Will probably be best with respectful, calm children ages 10 and up. Her energy might be too much for younger children.  She’s still learning boundaries and ‘personal space.’

Adoption donation: $250

We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.  You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process.  We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.

When your application is approved, we will schedule a home visit/meet-and-greet to see if Ginger picks you too.

If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed.

Please feel free to email weluvpups@hotmail.com if you have additional questions.
