Fenced yard required?:   YES – this little guy is blind and a fenced yard is required to help insure his safety

Does he/she jump fences?  NO

Obedience training:  He will come when called

Riding in vehicles:  RIDES OK

Up-to-date on routine vaccinations:   YES

Microchipped:   YES

Social with other dogs:  YES

Good with children: Will probably be fine with older, calmer, respectful children.

Ruger was found wandering in a remote area early July 2014.  He was severely dehydrated and underweight. eaten alive by fleas, and weighing barely 7 pounds.  He suffers from severe dry eye and must have prescription eyedrops multiple times every day.  Once we got him back up to weight, he was neutered and had a dental with several extractions.  He is, however, one of the sweetest, most loveable pups ever.  He is so good about getting his eye drops and he’s just a pleasure to be around.

We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.  You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process.  We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.

When your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet to see if Ruger picks you too.

If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed.
