ON SATURDAY OCTOBER 4 2014 MAX JOINED HIS HEW FAMILY AND NOW HIS NEW LAST NAME IS WITT!  WE KNOW HE IS GOING TO BE VERY LOVED (WELL ... MAYBE NOT BY THEIR CAT) AND HE WILL HAVE A GREAT LIFE!

Housebroken:  YES

Crate trained:  YES

Personality: sweet, playful, friendly, very people-oriented

Energy level:  medium with some energetic bursts
 
Fenced yard required?:   YES … he needs a safe place to play off-leash

Does he/she jump fences?  NO

Leash walk:  YES

Obedience training:  Knows ‘sit’

Riding in vehicles:  RIDES OK     

Spayed/neutered:   YES

Up-to-date on routine vaccinations:   YES

Microchipped:   YES

Social with other dogs:  YES with most others.  He does well with calmer dogs.

Social with cats:  Will join in barking at the cats
 
Good with children: Yes ... with calmer, respectful children

Max is just too cute … he smiles all the time.  He is super-friendly and always wants to be where people are, but he isn’t crazy about people rushing to him and petting his head.  He ducks as though he expects it to hurt.  He loves to have his chin and belly rubbed.  He has been social with his foster siblings as long as they don’t try to play too rough.

Max will do best if he does not have to spend much time alone ... he does show a bit of separation anxiety and can be vocal about his unhappiness.  He will not do well in an apartment or condo with close neighbors.

We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.  You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process.  We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.

When your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet to see if Max picks you too.

If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed.
