Boris is a purebred Karakachan (Bulgarian Shepherd). He will be 2 years old in November of 2010. He weights about 130lbs and has long husky-like fur that has been trimmed for the summer. He has been raised with kids and other animals. He does well with kids and strangers once he gets to know them, but may bark at first as he is very protective. He gets along with cats he knows well. He is aggressive to strange dogs, but is gentle once he gets to know them (his best friend weights about 5 lbs.). A supervised introduction is very important to him, once he accepts a person or animal he is loving and protective to them. He was purchased ($500) as a livestock guardian dog, but wants to be inside/outside with a family. He has separation anxiety and jumps a 4ft fence easily when left alone. He is terrified of thunder and fireworks and tries to run if not with his people or kenneled. He is sweet, protective and very smart. He will make a great family/companion dog, and is just not a working farm dog. We love him and want him to be happy.
If you are interested in adopting Boris, please email his family at scott@worthinc.net
